Melissa is a founding Mandarin member. She started when her youngest daughter was a toddler and quickly found a love of her “tribe.” When her children were both in elementary school, Melissa came without kids because she loved the work outs and moms. When she got pregnant again, she worked out until the day before she gave birth. Once a hater of running, she now does the Gate River Run every year. She has lost weight, gained muscle and it shows! “Working out with these other moms has been life changing for me. I love the variety of workouts outs and the support that I get. I work full time but appreciate that I can squeeze in my weekly workouts with this group no matter what life throws at me!”
New to the area and country, Aggie started with us looking to connect with other moms while exercising with her son outdoors. From the first day, she committed 100% and joined our Fitness Challenge after only a week of classes. She went on to win that challenge as team MVP, improved runner and most weight loss. Demonstrating that we are about the long term, Aggie continued her journey going from running her first mile in class to completing a half marathon. “I feel so much better since joining. It’s hard to believe that so much has changed for me in one year.”
Joining after having her 3rd child, Kelly was looking for a place where she could workout and have a welcoming environment for her and her little ones. She assumed it would be a temporary thing until she lost baby weight but 3.5 years later, she is still going strong! “It was much more than just a place to lose my baby weight. I found a sense of community with other moms all with similar goals. I have never felt better! Not only have I met my weight goal but I also feel strong thanks to the amazing instructors and the great group of ladies I get the privilege to workout with weekly!”
TJ joined Fall of 2019 right at the start of the fall challenge. “I’ve learned to surround myself with those who build me up as well as inspire me. Once I joined, I got so much more than just a great workout. I found it a great stress reliever just to get the twins out of the house and myself, especially once the walls started to close in on us. The other mamas and instructors are strong, beautiful, encouraging, sophisticated, and inspiring women navigating their way through motherhood also. I could go on and on.”
Liz joined 5 years ago when her daughter was 6 months old, right at the beginning of a fitness challenge. She wanted to get back in shape with strength and endurance for running. Her husband was working long shifts so she needed a place to bring her daughter with her. “Not only did I enjoy the physical results I was seeing, I also appreciated the camaraderie from fellow mothers. My children love coming along and playing with their friends and even joining me in exercising as well. I’ve now worked out through 2 more pregnancies. I’ve completed 8 fitness challenges, half of those while pregnant. I loved having fit pregnancies and the help to strengthen my body after birth as well. I’m not stopping and looking forward to the next challenge!”
